Write For Us

Toyoland has been publishing independent automotive content since 2004. We accept a limited number of guest contributions and freelance pitches from qualified automotive writers and industry professionals. If you have genuine expertise and the ability to write clearly for an audience of real car buyers, we want to hear from you.

We are selective. We would rather publish one genuinely useful article from an outside contributor than fill pages with submissions that do not meet our standard. Quality over volume is the only way we operate.

What We Are Looking For

The most important thing we look for is first-hand knowledge. We receive pitches from writers who have researched a topic well but have never owned the car, worked in the industry, or lived the experience they are writing about. Readers can usually tell the difference, and so can we.

Strong pitches typically come from people who:

  • Have owned, driven, or extensively tested the vehicles they are writing about
  • Work or have worked as mechanics, automotive technicians, or dealership professionals
  • Have previously published automotive content in credible outlets
  • Hold specialist knowledge in areas like EV technology, car finance, road safety, or automotive history
  • Have direct experience of the regional markets they are covering

We publish buying guides, reliability guides, model comparisons, ownership experience pieces, EV and hybrid technology explainers, and used car market guides. We do not publish manufacturer press release rewrites, pure opinion pieces without factual grounding, or content that exists primarily to promote a brand or product.

Editorial Standards

All content on Toyoland is held to the same standards, whether it comes from our core team or from a guest contributor. Articles must be a minimum of 1,200 words. All factual claims must be accurate and verifiable — if you reference reliability data, specifications, or statistics, you should be able to cite your source. Content must be entirely original and not published anywhere else. Writing must be clear and accessible to a general audience. Any submission that is primarily promotional will be declined.

How to Pitch

Send your pitch to editorial@toyoland.com with the subject line: Guest Post Pitch — [Example: Best SUVs Under $50K]. Include a proposed headline and a two to three sentence summary of what the article covers and why it is useful for car buyers. Add a short bio explaining your automotive background and two or three links to previously published work. We do not require a full draft upfront. We aim to respond to pitches that include all the above information as promptly as we can.

What Contributors Receive

Accepted contributors receive a published byline with a short bio and a link to their personal website or LinkedIn profile. We do not currently offer payment for guest contributions. What contributors do receive is placement on an established automotive domain with over 20 years of web history, a thorough editorial process, and genuine exposure to an audience of engaged car buyers.

We look forward to hearing from writers and professionals who share our commitment to honest, useful automotive content.
